Answers to your important questions
What's the difference between the SpikePod and the SpikePod Ball?
The SpikePod has a hinge head, a 1/4 inch accessory thread, best for creators with multiple devices. The SpikePod Ball is our older model which has a free-moving ball head, best for creators only filming using a phone.
Do I need a MagSafe phone to use the SpikePod?
No. The magnetic head attaches directly to any MagSafe iPhone or MagSafe-compatible case. For Android and other non-MagSafe phones, adhesive magnetic mounting rings are included in the box. Stick one to the back of your phone or case and it will snap onto the head.
Does it work with a phone case?
Yes. It works with all MagSafe-compatible cases. If your case is not magnetic, attach one of the included adhesive magnetic mounting rings to the outside of the case.
Can the SpikePod hold an iPad?
Yes. Use the wider adhesive magnetic mounting ring included in the box and your iPad will be secure and stable. The SpikePod has a load capacity of 1 kg.
Can I film in portrait and landscape?
Yes. Your phone rotates a full 360 degrees on the magnetic head, so you can switch between portrait and landscape in a second.
Will the SpikePod fit in my golf bag?
Yes. It collapses down to 29 cm and weighs approximately 440 g, so it slides into the side pocket of your golf bag.
Can I use any other attachments?
Yes. Remove the magnetic head to reveal a standard 1/4 inch screw thread, compatible with GoPros, gimbals, stabilisers and other recording attachments.
Can I use the SpikePod on driving range mats or hard ground?
Yes. A foldable tripod base is included for surfaces where the ground spike can't be used, such as hitting mats, paving and indoor floors.
